Type A, commonly referred to as the "North American" plug, features two flat pins and is ungrounded. It fits into Type A and Type B sockets.

Good to know: Type A plugs are polarized, ensuring correct orientation in the socket, but they lack grounding, making them less ideal for heavy-duty appliances.

Type E, of French origin, has two round pins with a grounding hole. It fits into Type E sockets and is compatible with Type C and Type F plugs, provided the socket has a pinhole for grounding.

Type F, also known as "Schuko," has two round pins and is grounded via two metal clips on the side of the plug. It fits into Type F sockets and is also compatible with Type C and E plugs.
